Traveling with Kids Airport Transfer Guide | Stress-Free Family Trip Tips

Pre-Departure Preparation: One Checklist for All Details

Traveling with children means more luggage than you imagine. Beyond adult clothes and documents, you need baby formula, diapers, comfort toys, kids' headphones, spare clothes… We recommend starting to pack three days before departure, completely separating "carry-on" and "checked luggage." The carry-on must have enough snacks, water, and entertainment to last the entire flight.

On the airport transfer booking form, be sure to note "number and ages of traveling children." This determines whether the driver needs to prepare child safety seats or booster cushions. PriorityTrip provides free car seats (ages 0–4) and booster cushions (ages 4–12) — just note this in the remarks field when booking. Last-minute requests are accommodated when possible, but advance booking ensures correct sizes and quantities.

Baby stroller handling also needs advance planning. If your stroller is large, inform us "needs stroller handling assistance" when booking, and the driver will arrange a vehicle with a spacious cargo area. Many families choose "gate check" for strollers — remember to bring a stroller bag to avoid dirtying the cabin with wheels.

5 Things to Mention When Booking

First: child seat requirements. Taiwan law requires children under 4 to use car safety seats, and ages 4–12 or under 140cm to use booster cushions. PriorityTrip's child seats and boosters all meet Taiwan CNS certification, provided free of charge with advance booking.

Second: luggage quantity and size. Family trips typically have 1–2 more suitcases than usual travel, plus baby strollers, car seats (if bringing your own), travel cribs, etc. When booking, tell us "3 x 28-inch + 2 carry-on + 1 stroller" and we can arrange the most suitable vehicle.

Third: special entry conditions at pickup location. If you live in a building requiring access cards or guard notification, leave "community name + main gate / parking lot / guard room" in the remarks. This is especially important for early morning departures, allowing the driver to enter the community smoothly without calling and waking the whole family.

Fourth: child's special needs. For example, prone to car sickness, sensitive to AC, needs quiet environment to sleep, etc. Our drivers have all received family service training and will adjust speed, AC temperature, and music volume according to your needs, ensuring children can rest comfortably in the car.

Fifth: flight time and buffer. When traveling with children, we recommend adding 30 extra minutes of buffer. For drop-offs, we suggest departing 4 hours before an international flight to handle unexpected milk preparation, diaper changes, or temper tantrums at airport security.

Drop-off Day: Tips for a Comfortable Ride

On departure day, dress children in "comfortable, familiar clothing" — don't put on new or tight clothes just for photos. They may be in the car for 40+ minutes, so comfort trumps appearance. If your child is still nursing, feed them before getting in the car to reduce mid-trip hunger.

PriorityTrip's business-class vehicles (Toyota Alphard / Vellfire) have tall cabins and spacious interiors where children can freely turn and stretch without the cramped feeling of a standard sedan. Many parents report that children are actually quieter in our cars than at home — possibly due to the sense of security from the spaciousness and smooth driving.

When getting in, the driver proactively assists loading all luggage and the baby stroller — parents only need to focus on getting the children settled. If using our child seat, the driver helps confirm secure installation and teaches you how to quickly unbuckle it (you'll need this skill upon airport arrival). The entire process usually takes just 2–3 minutes.

Pick-up: How to Keep Kids from Getting Tired and Cranky

After a long flight, adults are tired — kids are even more so. Children just landed may be in a state of "jet lag confusion" or "not enough sleep on the plane," and what they need most at this point is a "fast, smooth, no-hassle" pick-up process.

PriorityTrip's pick-up service includes flight tracking — the driver automatically adjusts arrival time based on your actual landing, so you don't have to drag luggage and tired children around the arrival hall waiting. We recommend families with children choose the "signboard pick-up" service, where the driver holds your designated name sign in the arrival hall for easy recognition, saving you the trouble of finding your way in the parking lot.

After getting in the car, many children become emotionally unstable due to the environment change. This is where the spacious cabin comes in — children can lie down to rest, quietly watch a tablet, or eat some snacks. The driver will also maintain smooth driving and a quiet cabin, avoiding radio or music, so the whole family can relax on the way home.
